About twenty six centuries ago, a human being became fully-enlightened in this world. For forty five years he preached the doctrine of Nibbana, the ultimate liberation for all beings, offering a peaceful way of life based on generosity, morality and wisdom. He was then known as Gotama Buddha and his philosophy spread to neighbouring countries. His Teachings are still studied and followed by more than 380 million people worldwide. His Original Teaching, known as Theravada Buddhism, is practised by 46 million Myanmar(Burmese) people, and is presented here for the benefit of all citizens of the World, regardless of age, race and Faiths.                       (Dr U Maung Maung Lwin, WebMaster, London)
